There is an ongoing custody dispute regarding the household cat, Babalucia, between Angela and Shelia. Angela expresses ownership of Babalucia, takes responsibility for feeding him and refers to him as her baby. However, the dispute occurs when Angela chooses to take the cat to the vet and agrees to treatment, but does not want to take responsibility for the costs incurred.
Angela frequently asserts that she is not required to pay rent or contribute to the household costs as her father left her 50% ownership of the property in his will.
