I think that’s a healthy mentality to have and likely falls under compartmentalism - needing that separation between study/work and personal life 🩵I obviously studied criminology myself, I liked watching cases at university in relation to my studies but personally I don't in my own time now as my own spare time is when I need a mental break from the world of crime etc with my personal life. It's not my place to partake in it when it's the role of the police and public services.
Having been involved in a DV relationship and the ensuing police/court contact that involved, I need to cherry pick what I consume at times. I won’t get too deep but I’m sure other victims/survivors can relate to sometimes having a need to see justice being served, to offer internal healing or sometimes satiate other things 🥹
