It’s really sad that some people value money above all else and will plot and deceive to get what they want at all costs. My husband always says if people used the energy they do to rip people off they might find they can have success in an honourable way. I know what he means - if you can work that hard at something negative surely you can use that time for something positive, but that does suppose that they have the wherewithal to actually do something worth doing, which clearly isn’t always the case! Greed is a dreadful thing. I’m sorry Richard’s actions have impacted you so hard, and I understand how frustrating it is when you can’t see a way of justice being served (I’m a lawyer so have seen too many people seemingly walk away Scot free!), but I’m sure you can see from everything written on the Internet about him, this is as a deeply unhappy and lonely man who in his dying months and weeks was desperate for the company of strangers to validate him. That’s pitiful, and if he hadn’t done something to ruin your life you’d feel sorry for him, but we can understand why you wouldn’t. It does seem though like you have a loving family, and you have the opportunity to come out of this and try to put yourself back in the position you were in. He doesn’t. And he never had a family of his own, nor did it seem there was much of one that cared about him anyway. Karma does have a habit of levelling things out! Keep your head high and know that you wouldn’t have done what he did, no matter the circumstances. A lifetime of deceiving people isn’t much of a legacy really, is it, however much joy you can find in flashing the cash stolen from others.
