My daughter started about 6 months ago at her old primary school as a 1 2 1 assistant for a autistic child. The school has managed to get the child more funding (think that's what it's called) so she's with him full time now. The connection they have is making a huge difference to both of them. She's doing her dream job.Oh bless him, my grandson is coping fine in Main stream right now, but we don’t think he’ll cope with comprehensive school, the size etc. we do have 2 great alternative options close by, one is a school that focuses on arts, outdoors etc and he could also get a funded place to spend a day or 2 a week at the stables he rides at, but we have time to look at things in a year or so. I always say, school isn’t for everyoneit’s very rigid and structured. The thing is, if they taught every lesson in a neuro diverse way, every child would thrive, teaching in a neuro typical way, our little people get left behind xx
