Wow, just caught up, as been at work, in a proper job. Iykyk. That ‘pat’ lunch, was loaded with sugar. My kids (now 18 and 16) used to enjoy things like carrot sticks, cucumber, hummus, at the side of their sandwich (with crusts still on, honestly, iykyk). At 8 years old, they could make their own sandwiches (not because I made them, they enjoyed doing it). They would bring me breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day, they wanted to do it and they had been taught how to do such things. Obviously supervised (we won’t speak of the marshmallow in the toaster incident but that is for another time
