Santa doesn't bring all the gifts in our house. Only the stocking (well small personalised sack) that contains a toy they want, seeets and treats, a book, bath stuff, cosy socks or slippers, pyjamas and an outfit. It's so hard because every household is different but I feel for children at school who may wonder why santa didn't bring them a PS5 or a new bike etc. So all gifts outside their stockings/sacks they know are from us.
My youngest is 8 and is currently at that stage where she hears older kids talking about Christmas and she isn't sure if she still believes or not. She blurted out one day walking home from school "Santa's not real" so when we got home I sat her down and asked her if she really thought that and she didn't know. She knows the ones at grottos are not real, they're helpers. I just explained that even if she stops believing, she has to keep the magic alive for all children younger than her because Christmas isn't about the presents or Santa really, it's all about the Christmas magic and spirit, spending quality time together.
