The point of a cocktail stick or skewer is to make small holes in the sponge for some of the sauce to seep through. She used it to test if the sponge was ready which in my opinion was in the oven for double the time it should. My sister is a qualified cook, not a chef but her sticky toffee is out of this world

I only know because I had to start eviction proceedings on a “friend” who rented a flat from me.so I had to do all the legal stuff ( well my solicitor did the work) and it was a year ago the notice started. Scotland brought out law (might not have been a law but I can’t really think of another word for it) during Covid that you couldn’t evict anyone.that only ended in march this year.so my solicitor started the 84 days to end when the law changed back in march.and had my tenant not gone we would have had to go to a tribunal as the the next stage. It was actually a nightmare as I needed to sell that flat . I know landlords have a bad name and people think that we are profiting on the back of people who can’t get a mortgage to buy. But people also don’t realise that the tenant has a lot more rights than the landlord.Oh really glad you know then I am like oh it's a month
If beefy has been given her 84 days notice but decides she is staying put. The landlord could have a fight on her hands. Beefy has a lot of legal and justifiable reasons not to go .
