Read this definition of a covert narcissist and tell me this isn’t Sevda!!!
A covert narcissist, also called a vulnerable narcissist, is someone who exhibits traits of narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) but expresses them in less obvious or more subtle ways compared to the typical “grandiose” narcissist.
Their behaviors tend to be more passive, introverted, or self-pitying.
Here are the key traits of a covert narcissist:
1. False Modesty or Shyness:
• Unlike overt narcissists who openly seek attention, covert narcissists may appear humble or introverted. However, this can mask their underlying need for validation. (We all know how this fits Sevda!!! Her shyness seems very selective)
2. Victim Mentality:
• They may present themselves as victims to elicit sympathy and admiration. For example, they might complain about being misunderstood or unappreciated.
(Come on this is Sevda spot on!!!)
3. Passive-Aggressiveness:
• Instead of being openly confrontational, they may use subtle, indirect ways to express anger, such as sarcasm, guilt-tripping, or silent treatment.
(Her digs towards the trolls in her videos, as we seem to live in her mind!!)
4. Need for Validation:
• Covert narcissists crave admiration but may fish for it subtly, often through self-deprecation or highlighting their struggles in order to draw attention and praise.
(Self explanatory and the way she always needs to be praised over dinner)
5. Fragile Ego:
• They are hypersensitive to criticism and rejection, often reacting with defensiveness, resentment, or withdrawal.
(I don’t think I need to explain this one do I)
6. Envy and Resentment:
• They often compare themselves to others and feel envious or bitter about others’ success, even though they may not openly express it.
7. Emotional Manipulation:
• They may use guilt, pity, or emotional blackmail to control others or get their way.
(Again, it’s a pity party for Sevda every day because she’s soooo tiwed and sooo busy and she does everything for everyone!!!!)
