My parents would never let me use Christmas money on CLOTHES! They’d just buy me them?? Some age appropriate toys are what she needs.

Also, I’m currently visiting family and my 5 year old niece is opening packets by herself and has an adult plate (albeit children’s cutlery but metal ones not plastic). I mentioned the fact Ela is 8/9 and can’t open packets and they are astounded!! The difference in toys my niece has compared to Ela. She is 3 years younger and has way more mature presents than Ela.

Oh ffs . I have endo, I’ve had many operations because of it, and ivf. I’m not going to go on about it. I also have a spinal condition which renders me bed bound sometimes. I’m on waiting list for nhs surgery - I’ve been waiting ages, they did such a good job on my neck operation, I need lumbar surgery, have to walk with an aid and sometimes need a scooter. I’m not seeking sympathy- it’s just so annoying that she is, all she has described what she has done is day to day chores which normal people do. She wasn’t suffering before the elf check was she. Try bleeding out in middle of a supermarket Sevda, passing clots (sorry to be graphic, but that is the reality). And a coat, as a Christmas present. She should’ve bought her one ages ago. It’s a necessity and it’s been cold for a while. Absolute cretins, lot of them. She really doesn’t understand real life. I still work, despite everything, in adult healthcare. They could all go with that to learn how to use cutlery. Sorry for rant

I couldn’t imagine my boys spending money on clothes at Ela’s age. It’s a necessity, not a treat. She is trying to big up age appropriate- it’s still not. My kids need a new coat, I have to get it, it’s normal parenting. Some poor people can’t afford to buy their kids a coat. She can.

and buys basic things to give her iPad kid as gifts. Makes my blood boil. Because she spends so much money on cakes. It’s disgraceful when some people can’t afford to eat, and sacrifice their own food for their children. I don’t have much money, but I try to pop things into food banks, and give to women’s refuges. When she does things like that she has to fiwm it. She’s a disgrace
