Edit…didn’t mean to tag this comment it was carers one 😂😂😂

Disability benefits are not means tested so can get it and work.

The carers, you can either get full carers or the carers element, not both. Full carers is means tested so you have to earn less than (I think….) £125 a week but the carers element you receive if you care for a child on disability and you receive universal credit. So you just need to be in receipt of universal credit and child disability. And child disability would automatically entitle you to universal credit as it lifts the benefit cap.

Universal credit is so varied now that working people can get it. That’s probably why they named it that.

I honestly must stress that it’s no easy to claim child disability or carers you need a s ton of evidence and from more than one place it’s not just based on the word of a parent so if people are getting these benefits they’re more than likely entitled to them. It’s evidence from school, home, GP, paeds and whatever else the child attends. You’d never get it on a parents word alone, and it’s looked at by different teams multiple times at DWP or SSS so that they aren’t releasing huge backdated payments by accident.

This isn’t directed at any one and not you fashionma, I just wanted to explain that because I do see people questioning disability benefits quite a lot.
I agree that it’s not up for debate that M does have autism etc, but she 100% makes it seem worse than what it is.

And does nothing to actually help him, with his leg splints, his language etc. it’s such a shame

Have you not seen her vid telling people to get backdated disabled carer's allowance . Separate from carer's allowance . Never heard of it . Wouldn't think you could get both or surely , something would have to be paid back .
That doesn’t sound right at all, never heard of disabled carers allowance. Carers allowance yes,but that’s all .

💯 you’re right. She does nothing for him. He basically uses the money for designer gear and expensive lunch boxes for him.

He’d love one of those spinning things but it won’t fit her Xmas aesthetic.

Carers allowance isnt hard to claim as long as the person being claimed for is on any of the qualifying benefits.
Its a simple online form.
I think the amount you are allowed to earn is going up to £180 a week which would allow someone to work part time and claim carers.
I do agree that anyone who receives any disability benefit probably does so quite legitimately. These are not easy benefits to claim. Lots of evidence from professionals, and assessments.and a very long and detailed form to fill in.it makes it a hard task.
I wouldn’t question anyone’s right to DLA/PIP as they have already been thoroughly assessed.
I also have not directed this at anyone here. I haven’t seen discrimination here at all , I wish I could say the same for real life.

That Sarah putting it out there and flagged it up , because I've never heard of it either . Surely you can't get both if it even exists and on at people to get it backdated who are unaware of it . 🤔

Yeh I just meant that disability can be quite hard to get and therefore carers might be.
Many don’t know what they’re entitled to either which is a shame in itself so I pretty much welcome videos explaining to backdate things people are entitled to.

I for one find it very confusing 🫤 we don’t get carers allowance but do get the carers element. However once you tell the relevant people about the qualifying benefits you shouldn’t really have to chase back pay as it’s automatic. So her videos quite pointless 😂

If she’s getting money from beefy undeclared she better be prepared to declare. Cos people will leave no stone unturned if she’s collaborating with a monster.

I just saw Tattle and it's being discussed on there too . People have obviously seen her vids . I saw it the other week and I asked a carer's support worker and she hasn't even heard of this or any of her colleagues .

She is super triggered another day sitting on her arse doing nothing no hotel or flights booked for her live no flight booked to come home not Excatly a person with ADHD they are normally super organised.
I wish this was true.. I’ve got adhd and I’m awful, once I packed 40 minutes before we left, I think in my messed up mind if I pack early I’ll go buy more stuff! Then I procrastinate and end up late !

Nights out I can’t have anyone getting ready with me cause I will sit and talk and not do a thing

Turned up somewhere once with my friend and I had booked the weekend before 🤢😂😂

I hate to allow her to even suggest it cause I don’t believe she has adhd there is noway she could make morning videos, do a full face before school runs, and not be manic..

But unfortunately some of us are like that 🤢
