She had no choice. She used to say it quite frequently and I told her she would never see her grandchild if she carried on because I’m not having my children hear that from their grandmother. I feel quite passionately about this subject because I was the first person of colour to enter a huge white family and I was so scared but all her sons have now had children with black women, she’s a good grandmother and treats me like her own daughter. It’s been 17 years so I’m sure she’s let her bigotry go (well I can hope)

All her sons marrying black women, is just I can’t imagine the pressure and grief you must’ve faced at first She does sound like she’s turned around and thank God, because what a beautiful big family to miss out on
