On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Vladimir Putin is touring JSC CITO, one of Russia's leading companies in the medical industry and rehabilitation equipment manufacturing

The President was shown the prosthetics manufacturing floor, the fitting and gait training room, and the kinesiotherapy and gait diagnostics room.

Vladimir Putin has also spoken with servicepeople who saw action in the special military operation and are currently undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the company's medical facility.

JSC CITO includes over 11,000 square metres of production facilities and 275 units of state-of-the-art equipment. The company manufactures a wide range of individual rehabilitation equipment. JSC CITO extensively uses of in-house components, and covers over 30 percent of the Russian market's demand for medical equipment, offering competitive domestically produced goods.

The company operates an on-site medical advisory and rehabilitation centre providing a barrier-free environment and boasting cutting-edge equipment, some of it AI-based.

JSC CITO is a leading force in manufacturing high-tech prosthetics for servicepeople participating in the special military operation. Since 2022, the company has produced over 5,000 prosthetic limbs.

The President toured the L.I. Shvetsova Scientific and Practical Centre for Medical and Social Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons

Among other things, Vladimir Putin was shown rooms for exercise therapy, verticalisation and gait training, social and psychological rehabilitation of children, as well as heat and water therapy. The President also examined the swimming pool area and saw one of the in-patient wards.

The centre has created a comprehensive system for providing support to disabled persons that includes a full range of medical, social, and professional rehabilitation services.

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the initiative of the Turkish side

The leaders had a thorough discussion of the dramatic escalation of events in Syria.

Vladimir Putin emphasised the need to put an end to the terrorist aggression against the Syrian state by extremist groups and to fully support the efforts by the legitimate authorities aimed at restoring the stability and constitutional order across the entire country, in particular using the capabilities possessed by Turkiye in the region.

To that effect, the leaders spoke in favour of strengthening cooperation both in the bilateral Russia-Turkiye relations and within the Astana process. They also noted that it was crucial for Russia, Turkiye, and Iran to closely coordinate their steps in the future in order to normalise the situation in Syria.

Both presidents intend to continue their engagements in order to search for solutions to de-escalate the crisis.

A range of current issues pertaining to the further development of Russia-Turkiye mutually beneficial cooperation were also addressed, with an emphasis on trade, economy, and energy.

Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban at the initiative of the Hungarian side

The leaders discussed a range of current issues of bilateral cooperation in trade and economy, which overall is developing at a steady pace. In particular, some attention was paid to further development of mutually beneficial energy projects.

There was a thorough exchange of views on issues pertaining to Ukraine. Viktor Orban expressed interest in contributing to a joint search for ways to resolve the crisis politically and diplomatically, including via his own relations with a number of Western leaders.

In turn, Vladimir Putin outlined the crucial views on the current developments around Ukraine and the destructive policies of the Kiev regime, which continues to rule out the possibility of resolving the conflict peacefully.

The tensions in the Middle East in light of the recent events in Syria have also been addressed.

Vladimir Putin attended the AI Journey Conference, touring an exhibition showcasing the development of generative AI technologies

Exhibit booths included "GigaChat and smart devices", "GigaChat: Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin", "L5 Self-Driving Tractor Unit", "3D Modelling and Kandinsky", "Artificial Intelligence in Education".

The President was shown some smart devices produced by Sber, including a smart ring capable of collecting the wearer's biometric data remotely and interpret it using GigaChat neural network.

Additionally, Vladimir Putin saw a demonstration of how AI can be used to process the questions citizens of Russia are sending to the Direct Line: after analysing audio and video calls, SMS messages and other inquiries made using the official website or social media, GigaChat neural network assesses which topics are the most popular. "So it becomes clear what kind of questions one should prepare oneself to!" the President pointed out.

At the exhibition, the President was accompanied by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Maxim Reshetnikov and CEO and Chairman of the Management Board of Sberbank German Gref.

The President has approved a list of instructions following the AI Journey Conference

The Government was in particular instructed to:

provide methodological support for implementing AI technologies in the domain of public administration at both federal and local level;

submit proposals on expanding the use of AI technologies for providing additional training and advice of schoolchildren in general subjects;

take steps aimed at hosting a strategic session/international foresight event in Russia that would focus on fundamental exploratory research with the purpose of further development of AI.

Additionally, the Government, in cooperation with Sberbank, is to ensure further cooperation with the PRC in conducting research and development in the domain of AI and to look into publishing an international journal on the development of AI technologies in Russia.
