TLDR
Just got Baby Boots back from the vet. She has mammary cancer and was supposed to have surgery this morning if her X-ray showed her lungs were clear of any tumours. So I dropped her off and after the vet examined her she said she had a cluster or tumours, not the 2 we thought. Then the vet said she’d only ring if the X-ray was bad. I was sitting getting my hair done and the phone goes, it’s the vet. I started to panic. Turns out her lungs are fine but she has a skin infection so they can’t operate until that’s cleared up. But she’s also now been diagnosed with an enlarged heart 😭 I had to go at 1pm to speak with the vet about moving forward,so she thinks her heart is stable atm as when she was under sedation and after, her heart rate was good but I’m having a cardiologist to look at her X-ray. She’s been rescheduled for surgery in Fri the 13th as long as her skin is clear.
Oh no sorry to hear this, I bet your heart dropped into your mouth when the phone went. Glad her lungs are ok and hopefully the op will go well and Baby Boots will soon be on the mend 🫶🏼

Aw thank you 😊. No his treats don’t last long enough lol but I’ll look into those items thank you. We’ve been very lucky and apart from his ears playing up he’s never been poorly so yesterday definitely spooked me, I was literally booing on the phone to the vet like a mad woman. I’ve never had a dog before this little hippo came into my life and I know it sounds cliche but he really is like a best friend, he’s helped me out of many a dark time so I think I overreacted a little. Fingers crossed he’s over the worst 🤞🏼
I'm awful at overreacting/panicking when there's something wrong with my dog. 🤦‍♂️😂 I always think it's better to be overly cautious & get it checked rather than regret it, y'know? I'm sure the vets love my outlook as it's easy money. 😂

I'm guessing you've been told to do the whole boiled chicken and rice thing?

Chicken and rice with natural yogurt is a bland, tasty treat for dogs that can be made at home. It can be a good option if your dog has an upset stomach.

Ingredients
  • Boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • White or jasmine rice
  • Chicken bone broth
  • Plain or non-fat Greek yogurt
Steps
  1. Boil the chicken.
  2. Boil or steam the rice.
  3. Let the chicken and rice cool.
  4. Shred the chicken.
  5. Blend the chicken, rice, and broth until smooth.
  6. Top with plain Greek yogurt.
Tips
  • You can also add vegetables like peas, carrots, green beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, zucchini, or broccoli.
  • If your dog is overweight, you can use fat-free yogurt.
  • You should avoid yogurt with xylitol, which is toxic to dogs.
  • You should also avoid yogurt with added sugar or artificial sweeteners.
  • Dogs may have trouble digesting lactose, so too much yogurt can cause gas, diarrhea, vomiting, and GI distress.
🤞 he's back to his usual self soon. 🫶

Will just add that I've never blended it or added broth. 😂 And one time when I was desperate I cooked a chicken korma microwave meal, cleaned the korma sauce from the chicken and shredded that up with a bag of microwave rice for my dog. 🤷‍♂️😂

Someone mentioned chicken and rice but not a recipe so thank you for that, I’ve just put my shopping order in for the ingredients 👍🏼. You’re a star 🤩

Older pets are always such a worry when they get unwell, aren’t they. I can remember when my old cat was 17 and he had to have his teeth removed. I panicked and cried all through his operation.

I hope your pooch gets better soon. Enjoy your cuddles x
Thank you 😊.
How are you doing ? The longest I’ve been in hospital is around 3 weeks and that was tough so my heart goes out to you, it’s been a couple of months now hasn’t it ? I do chuckle when I see your food craving posts in here, although I’m not surprised looking at the food they serve 🤢. Sending lots of healing hugs ❤️‍🩹

Somewhere
Elphaba has moved back to Maria's and she is apparently bullying a young woman who has just moved next door to them with her very young kids. The woman complained about Elphaba screeching Defying Gravity 24/7 because the noise is waking her kids up constantly. All the anti Elphaba groups have come together and got the young woman on live. Proper b fest going on and the transphobia is crazy!

My cat is 16 and has a lump on side of her face, she is very lethargic, and not eating much, but is yawning and moving her mouth like normal. Did your cat have a swollen face due to his sore teeth?
