Morning, so when I was in hospital I saw pain management, they prescribed gabapentin and told me to take 1 3 times a day for 2-3 days then add another to it until I’m on up to 4 three times a day. I told her my gp wouldn’t agree to this as I was on it before and she just completely stopped my prescription and I had withdrawal symptoms. So after checking my discharge letter it says 1 3 times a dayphoned gp on Friday and she called me this morning and said she won’t prescribe more than 1 3 times a day. Told me to phone pain management to sort it. I’m going round in circles trying to speak to someone and getting nowhere. I’m in so much pain atm but I’m doing the increase slowly as advised. I’m so frustrated
That’s crazy. I swear some gps can be a night mardy fers. If you’re not under a consultant, try and get your gp to refer you as well. I’m under trauma and orthopaedic. Like you I’m on gabapentin but it doesn’t really work for me anymore. I’m getting a nerve block injection next week. Which I’m praying gives some relief.

Sadly consultants can only request a GP prescribe medication, a GP doesn’t have to, which beggars belief and really makes you wonder why they even send you to a specialist.
It’s mad isn’t it. And don’t get me wrong I’m thankful for the nhs. But some of these gps can be really arsey.

I hope you get sorted, those tablets if you miss a dose for a few hrs you end up with withdrawals. Chemist just been on phone to say can't get my 20mg tablets but can get 10mg. She's going to email my doctors, she said they may say no to the 10mg as they cost more then the 20mg!!

It has come to my attention that someone has took it upon themselves to create a website about Hayley Comet. Targeting this woman ALONE is cruel enough, to bring her kids into it is a whole new level of vile finess. 
Seriously, these trolls need to get a grip. Go outside, touch some grass (or smoke it if that tickles your fancy) and find something better to do with their finite time on this planet.

My psychiatrist issued them and has said they are often out of stock. He can get them from the MH chemist they us. But he rathers my own chemist to get them. I've been told only 1 other client are on these tablets so they are not common. They are doing sod all so I don't think I will notice any different if I missed a few
I've been lucky that I've managed to bug my Consultant when at appointments for prescriptions for certain things because of the sheer hassle of getting them from my GP , only downside is getting them only from hospital pharmacy and if they have them (White prescription so can't be used outside , it's mad that certain hospitals don't have normal prescription abilities!) Last time I was at the GP for bloods the nurse said that the GP only receives 30p for all patients , obviously some need more than others. I hate that it's all about COST and not about the patient , the amount of pen pushers in these positions who determine if you can have something or not would pay for some of these medications. Don't get me wrong , I love the NHS , I wouldn't be here without it and it's clear with Mum in how stretched they are , but it's been left broken for so long
