Totally feel you here, my one became verbal around 3,5 yrs old, he was 5 when we moved country to get away from an abusive marriage. He is 19 now but there was nothing on earth I didn’t do to get him anything needed in order him to thrive. Looking back I was in constant burn out but never once thought I’ll giving up on him. What Steph does is breaking my heart, this wee boy could have been far further on his developmental journey. She literally does everything to block him.Not new to Vav but new to this thread. One thing I want to comment on is how badly she's failing Max. My 17 year old was exactly like Max. He has CP. He was non verbal. He has a sight impairment and has an intellectual disability.
Those early days were hard. I was 20 and out of my depth but I spent every day trying to get him to improve. I hired a play specialist, I paid to have him in a specialist communication nursery. I took him out which yes was hard because he'd have meltdowns but you know what I had to. I didn't have anyone to pawn him off to. He's now 17, relatively independent, talking and in a school that suits his needs.
I'm sorry she makes my blood boil and don't even start me on the introducing him to strange men
