She said something like “let’s see if Ela notices” about the cheese being sliced and not grated. Seemed to imply like the child would have an opinion on that?! She seriously needs to tell the child to get a grip if that’s the case.
at 7 nearly 8 I was making (or at least trying) my own lunches with the help and guidance of my Mum... I would have to help with the household chores along with my elder siblings... we have to wash, wipe and put away the dishes after dinner to earn our pocket money!
I bough my 2 up in a similar manner.. they would have to earn there pocket with suitable chores around the house, ensuring they realised that not only do you have to work to earn money but also making them see that we all live in the house and we all chip in.
My grandchildren are only 3 years old but already they stand on a chair/stool and get involved in making lunch/dinner/cakes etc...loves to stand at the sink and wash up (aka make a mess
) its all about them being involved and engaged with...unlike this little madame who will grow up thinking she is that special she couldn't possibly do this or that...
