Tattle got popular by spamming the PMs of users on Guru Gossip (a site that was a precursor to tattle) when GG went to s (much like tattle has now). My guess is they want to stop the same thing happening to them and have a monopoly on the gossip scene. It’s also probably a pretty decent money...
