I have now heard 30+ journalists and content creators talk about the “quiet luxury controversy” and not a single other person referring to it in any way, never mind engaging in any controversy.

R to @Nowheria: Combination of Paltrow’s court appearance and a script line in Succession. Essentially: old money / “if you know, you know” style Vs new money / overt logos sort of thing. I don’t think anyone GAF tbh. It’s turned into a thing to talk about that no one is actually talking about.

R to @Nowheria: Yes. It’s basically a very small number of people talking sometimes quite angrily / defensively about a very industry thing (fair enough) under the guise of covering a story “everyone is talking about”, when they’re just not. It’s NBD and harmless, but a bit daft.
