If you were told a rumour and your mate and the other party both vehemently denied it, your employers told you they’d investigated it and it wasn’t true, would you *really* demand your mate’s sacking / walk out of your job? She’s been naive, maybe, but mostly mugged off?

In any case, many of the people baying for her sacking seem also to be operating in the belief that women know everything about every man they know and are responsible for stopping any of his alleged wrongness
