The conference, which is one of the important events in the run-up to the second Russia-Africa Summit, will be attended by more than 40 delegations from the African continent.

Vladimir Putin held a videoconference on the socioeconomic development of Crimea and Sevastopol

Highlights:

Security is a priority for Crimea and Sevastopol, especially today. We will do our best to stop any threat.

Restoration of the Crimean Bridge after the terrorist attack continues and will be completed on schedule. It is already open to vehicle traffic, and the railway tracks are being repaired.

The state programme for the socioeconomic development of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol has been expanded and extended until 2027. The total investment is over 1.6 trillion rubles.

Over 250 investment projects are being implemented in Crimea, the total investment is 450 billion rubles. There are about 100 other projects in Sevastopol worth over 217 billion rubles.

We will continue to develop a special economic zone in Crimea. By the beginning of this year, over 1,578 companies had registered as residents, 85 percent of which are small and medium-sized enterprises.

Meeting participants reviewed the ministry's performance in 2022 and identified priorities for 2023.

"Today Russian businesses operate in complicated conditions. However, they handle serious challenges honourably and ensure the development of the Russian economy. <...> Please check whether it is justified to open criminal cases against entrepreneurs. It is often obvious from the beginning that the case has no judicial prospects. Then opening a case is not even necessary as it simply destabilises the work of entire teams and companies. It is absolutely unacceptable. <...> Of course, at the same time we must keep an eye on economic activities and prevent violations strictly," the President noted.

Our country reliably performs all the obligations pertaining to the supply of food, fertilisers, fuel and other products that are critically important to the countries of the African continent, helping ensure their food and energy security.

If a decision is made to not extend the grain deal in 60 days, we are ready to supply the same amount that was delivered under the deal, from Russia to the African countries in great need, at no expense.
