Vladimir Putin once again warmly congratulated Narendra Modi on the successful touch-down of the Indian lunar lander, Chandrayaan-3, on the lunar south pole region. The sides confirmed their readiness to further develop bilateral space cooperation.

The results of the 15th BRICS Summit in Johannesburg were discussed with a focus on the importance of the agreements reached, primarily on BRICS’ expansion, which undoubtedly would promote the growth of its influence in international affairs.

It was agreed to closely collaborate in the context of Russia’s BRICS chairmanship, which starts on January 1, 2024. The parties also exchanged views on the upcoming G20 Summit in New Delhi.

The discussion also touched on current issues of Russian-Indian relations, which are developing progressively in the spirit of a specially privileged strategic partnership. Vladimir Putin and Narendra Modi stated that the two countries’ trade and economic cooperation showed positive dynamics and expressed their shared intention to consistently implement large-scale energy projects and work together to expand the international transport and logistics infrastructure.

Meeting on the socioeconomic development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The President's key statements:

The Krasnoyarsk Territory has great amounts of natural resources: coal, oil, iron and polymetallic ores, gold, nickel, and rare earth metals. The region is traditionally rich in coniferous forests, water, and fertile land. Many industrial enterprises in the region hold leading positions both in Russia and in global markets. It is important to ensure their technological and environmental progress.

There are opportunities to expand the extraction of resources and the development of new distinct deposits, and this is currently underway, for example, in the Arctic, in Taimyr in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

It is important to form a more up-to-date and flexible structure of the region's economy, create new jobs, and ensure the growth of people' incomes.

It is necessary to strengthen the education system specifically for the regional economy, and coordinate the efforts of colleges, universities, and industrial enterprises through regional educational centres, research and production associations.

Development of logistics and transport infrastructure is a separate issue. These projects include expanding the Trans-Siberian Railway, building up Northern Sea Route capacities, Arctic ports, airports, and building and repairing highways. All are of particular importance for the region.

One of these projects has already opened: the bridge across the Yenisei near Vysokogorsky. This is the northernmost bridge across the Yenisei River, and it will establish year-round connections with the North Yenisei District, one of our largest centres in the gold mining industry.

Gas distribution in the Krasnoyarsk Territory is a special effort since this resource is critical for the economy and for resolving environmental problems.

We must ensure the development of social infrastructure in small towns, including improving the quality and accessibility of medical services, updating schools, resettling emergency housing, and developing sports infrastructure.

The President listened to reports from Krasnoyarsk Territory Acting Governor Mikhail Kotyukov and Government members on the current state and development plans for the region, and also wished the Acting Head of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and his team success in their work and in the upcoming election.

Vladimir Putin and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov took part, via videoconference, in a ceremony to launch construction of three Russian-language schools in Bishkek, Batken and Karakol

Russia plans to build nine schools in seven cities and two villages in Kyrgyzstan by 2027. Over 11,000 children will study there.

Russia will fund the construction and equipping of the schools, including sports infrastructure, swimming pools, and textbooks.

Teaching at the schools will be carried out simultaneously according to Russian and Kyrgyz educational standards, and graduates will receive two diplomas, a Russian and Kyrgyz one.

Both Russian and Kyrgyz teachers who have undergone special training at Russian universities will work at the schools, which will make it possible to combine and integrate the teaching, mentoring and educational potential of our countries, as well as to ensure a high quality of education at the future joint schools.

Our countries are actively conducting student exchanges. It is common for Kyrgyz schoolchildren to be invited to Russia for a three-month period to study Russian language, history, culture and other subjects.

Russia and Kyrgyzstan are fruitfully cooperating in higher education. Currently, over 16,000 university students from Kyrgyzstan are studying in Russia.

The network of branches of Russian universities in Kyrgyzstan is expanding. For example, there are plans to open a branch of Moscow State University.

Established in 2019, the Senezh Management Lab youth centre trains management personnel for federal and regional ministries and agencies.

The President toured the new second education campus. Now up to 1,500 people will be able to simultaneously train at Senezh.
