On the sidelines of the 2nd Future Technologies Forum, the President toured an exhibition on the progress of modern medicine

Prior to the plenary session, Vladimir Putin familiarised himself with advanced medical solutions, such as innovations in digital, genetic, bio- and neurotechnology, and AI-based software, as well as projects in regenerative and nuclear medicine. The President was accompanied by Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko.

The forum, hosted at Moscow's World Trade Centre on February 13-14, has brought together researchers, doctors and experts to address major tasks in the innovative development of medical technologies.

Vladimir Putin addressed the Future Technologies Forum's plenary session,“Advanced Medical Technologies: Tomorrow's Challenges – Staying Proactive”. Highlights:

In the past five years, over 500 outpatient cancer centres have been opened across the country.

By the end of the decade, we must reduce the incidence of hepatitis C to a minimum, as our programme launched last year was specifically designed to do.

In recent years, we have made efforts to substantially improve primary healthcare, with new outpatient clinics and district hospitals built and existing ones upgraded. Paramedic and obstetric stations as well as outpatient clinics are opening in small towns and rural areas.

Last year, we introduced monthly bonus payments for primary healthcare workers. I propose raising these payments for medical workers in small towns, district centres and villages starting March 1.

We are close to developing so-called oncovaccines, or cancer vaccines, as well as a new generation of immunomodulatory drugs. I expect them to be put to effective use soon as a form of individual treatment.

We plan to substantially expand the programme for the construction of physical fitness and wellness centres in our cities and towns.

I think it is necessary to increase the annual budget for developing innovative medical technologies and products.

I propose expanding the national network of medical research centres to boost their cooperation with other research institutes.

I ask the Government to develop and launch another national project by the end of this year that would ensure technological sovereignty in developing advanced healthcare technologies.

Vladimir Putin arrived in Nizhny Tagil and visited Uralvagonzavod

The President inspected the transmission manufacturing shop and the assembly shop, where he was explained how various systems of combat vehicles were installed, and shown products ready to be shipped to the troops. Next, the head of state spoke briefly with the company’s employees.

The Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation is one of Russia’s largest manufacturers of military equipment, road construction machines, and railway cars. The plant produces a diverse array of over 200 types of products and is the only manufacturer of new tanks for the Russian Armed Forces. Its facilities produce the T-14 tank on the Armata platform, the T-90M Proryv tank, the upgraded T-72B3M tank, as well as tank support combat vehicles and armoured engineering vehicles.

The head of state visited school No 32 in Nizhny Tagil

The President was shown the educational institution's facilities and equipment, including dining hall, gyms and auditorium, as well as classrooms for lessons in chemistry, physics, basic safety and defence of the Motherland.

The school, which was was built in 1936, reopened in January after significant renovations. Classrooms received up-to-date equipment, and robotics and digital laboratories were set up in specialised rooms. The overhaul was funded by the Improving School Education Systems programme.

Vladimir Putin arrived in Verkhnyaya Pyshma, where he visited the Ural Locomotives plant.

The President toured the electric train assembly complex.

The company specialises in designing, producing and maintaining next-generation rolling stock, manufacturing equipment for both passenger and freight transportation.

Today, the plant’s specialists, together with Russian Railways, are working on creating an automatic train. Other promising projects include setting up mass production of high-speed electric trains.

The President continues his working trip to the Urals Federal District. On Friday, Vladimir Putin arrived in the Chelyabinsk Region

The day began with a visit to the Robot Factory at the Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant, one of the leading enterprises in the country’s machine-building industry, founded in 1942.

The plant specialises in serial production and assembly of six-axis industrial robotic manipulators, which are extensively used in diverse sectors, ranging from the food industry to aviation and astronautics. During his visit, the President toured an exhibition of import-substituted components for industrial robots and viewed civilian products on display.

The meeting is taking place in Stankomash Industrial Park in Chelyabinsk, the production hub of the KONAR Industrial Group. This full-cycle enterprise manufactures products for the oil and gas sector, shipbuilding, the energy sector, and industrial and civil construction. The company cooperates with several universities and actively participates in projects such as Professionalitet and Engineers of the Future 74.

Vladimir Putin heard a report from Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu about the capture of Avdeyevka. The President congratulated Russian military personnel on this success and an important victory.

On February 17, the Centre force grouping of the Russian Federation Armed Forces, under the command of Colonel General Andrei Mordvichev, gained complete control over the town of Avdeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

Vladimir Putin met with Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu. Key points:

The situation in Avdeyevka is apparently a success that needs to be expanded. But it must be well prepared with the proper number of personnel and the appropriate amount of weaponry, military hardware and munitions.

All the military units and service personnel that were engaged in taking Avdeyevka acted heroically and deserve top decorations, awards and words of gratitude.

The liberation of the village of Krynki on Dnieper’s left bank is also a job well-done.

We have always acted and should act with regard to POWs in strict compliance with international law and conventions.

As for the deployment of nuclear weapons in outer space that the West has been talking about lately, our position is clear and transparent: we have always categorically opposed this. We urge all parties to honour all nuclear weapons agreements; we have repeatedly suggested stepping up this joint work.

We have never been against holding talks. This is true for both Ukraine and for strategic stability in the world. We do not rule anything out, and we will not give away anything, but we have to sort out what the Western nations actually want. They generally want unilateral advantage, but they won't get it.

Vladimir Putin held a videoconference on school renovations

The videoconference involved 16 regional schools that underwent major renovation.

Under the federal renovation programme, over 7,300 school buildings are to be renovated by the end of 2026 with over half of them in rural communities. Over 3.3 million children will enjoy a better learning environment.
