R to @BootstrapCook: And if you’re more outraged at the desperate human being risking criminality to feed and care for an infant, than you are at the systemic and deliberately inflicted poverty state that forces them to have to do it in the first place, you’ve got your moral compass on the wonk.

And to follow up on one of the points from this evenings #BBCQT, which I didn’t get a chance to jump in with but REALLY wanted to:

Remember if you happen to think you see someone shoplifting nappies and baby formula, you definitely didn’t see a damn thing.

R to @LynnCorinBTN: Definitely didn’t expect him to be the spicy element on the panel!

Great episode of Question Time with both @jessphillips and @BootstrapCook. Loved watching your faces as Chris Patten had a huge go at the Conservative party. Definitely NOT what we all expected but such fun to watch!

R to @PrestonPauline: He’s being very reckless making a statement like that. Especially with Jack’s previous successes with libel litigation.

What exactly has @BootstrapCook done which amounts to “criminality”?

Or is the thoroughly decent Jack being libelled once again on Twitter?

Could you love Jack Monroe any more? Right on point on #BBCQT! No wonder those holding power are so afraid of her and people like her - well-informed, so in touch with the people, and with a proper moral compass. It's actually therapeutic listening to her. 👊 @BootstrapCook

@BootstrapCook have you noticed a trend of supermarkets pulling various items from their ‘value’ ranges at all? We primarily shop at Tesco and have noticed multiple items no longer available e.g. largest block of mature cheddar. Not sure if supply related or profit driven.

R to @EpicurianGarden: I’ve been campaigning for UBI for a decade, so I’m glad to know some of the messaging is getting across.

R to @LondonEconomic: That's "just" a rehashed argument for a BI or Basic Income, it airbrushes out decades of housing injustice and the erosion of living standards over the longer term. Neither Phillips nor Monroe have answers to this crisis because both them are guilty of causing it.

🗣️ "For Rishi Sunak to say that it's a government of honesty and integrity is absolutely laughable when it's a government that routinely seeks to obfuscate, delay and deny their involvement in absolutely any wrongdoing." @BootstrapCook on #BBCQT ⏬

R to @ThatPurpleSnail: Yeah, they could just make those (or other!) products 50p cheaper so people in poverty could afford them in the first place… but it’s always about profit, PR, and then people, and always in that order.
