The meeting focused on the new stage of the control and oversight reform and improving permitting activities.

The meeting participants also discussed the current epidemiological situation in Russia, the federal project on Volga River basin rehabilitation, the creation of the Russian Pension and Social Insurance Fund, and changes in 2022 insurance contribution deadlines.

Vladimir Putin’s main statements at the joint news conference with Alexander Lukashenko:

Russia and Belarus have been effective in working together to counter the sanctions pressure.

The two countries have been successful in carrying out 28 sectoral integration programmes as part of their efforts to implement the Treaty on the Union State. Out of almost 1,000 integration initiatives scheduled to be undertaken by 2023, 600 have been carried out so far.

In the first 10 months of 2022, mutual trade increased by 10.1%, and is expected to reach a record-high level of over $40 billion by the end of the year.

Russia allocated an additional 105 billion rubles to Belarus for funding promising joint projects to promote import substitution in machine and engineering tool manufacturing and electronics.

The two countries agreed on energy pricing parameters.

Construction of the Belarusian nuclear power station’s second power unit is expected to be completed next year.

Space cooperation continues, including in terms of building new satellites.

Russia and Belarus will continue holding regular joint exercises, deliver weapons they need to one another and work together on manufacturing new military equipment.

Russia may train crews for the Belarusian army aircraft, modified to carry special warheads.
