Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart TokayevThe leaders discussed in detail the difficult flood situation in the border regions of Russia and Kazakhstan, noting the close collaboration of relevant departments and services in the two countries that are jointly monitoring and forecasting the situation, developing and implementing coordinated response measures. The presidents agreed to step up these efforts.
Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev briefly discussed international and regional matters, particularly as regards Russia’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Kazakhstan’s chairmanship of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation.
The two leaders confirmed mutual commitment to further strengthen the alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan in a comprehensive manner.

The President received reports on the flood situation from the three regions' governors (Orenburg Region, Kurgan Region and Tyumen Region). Another report was presented by Emergencies Minister Alexander Kurenkov, who once again arrived at the site to monitor the work as chairman of the government commission for relieving the consequences of floods and providing assistance to people living in flood zones.
In addition, following a telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev earlier today, instructions were issued to the two countries' prime ministers to take control over the situation and ensure bilateral coordination in order to synchronise actions to combat floods and their consequences.

Head of Roscosmos Yury Borisov spoke about the launch of the Angara heavy-lift rocket from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on April 11 and plans for the launchpad's further development.
