There are different pain meds which they could try you on especially if you're still in pain, if they refuse or you don't feel comfortable taking something else then ask for them to refer you to pain management. They do a thorough review and find the right meds for you. I hope you manage to get sorted.

I'm glad though, GPs don't know enough about those meds and long term effects. I was put on zopiclone, max dose nightly for over a year. It's a miracle I didn't get addicted but it's taken 5/6 years to get back to feeling tired naturally at a normal time
Have tired a tens machine? I swear by mine because I’ve got stenosis cervical and lumbar plus my pelvis and hips are buggered from spinning and fall down the stairs. Plus ask for steroid injection in the areas that are causing pain

I scrolled into Alicia's, and Olly is slating cc because we've apparently doxed him. Now that's news to me, I'm not a lover of doxxing anyone and I've never come across anyone doxxing Olly, (I find Olly a touch boring so why would anyone dox him?!) Also, Alicia, has made pics of the CC members that she doesn't like because we've called her ugly. - not a word I use.

I'm so glad you put this, I've been offered it and turned it down as I was worried about side effects - thank you.
I have hEDS, fibromyalgia and all the fun things that come along with those. I was offered meds like gabapentin and tramadol to help when nothing was working for pain. I turned them down as I tend to react badly to meds due to my hEDS, the stronger the meds the worse the reaction. Reading comments in here about people's experiences with strong meds has made me glad I got off it all once I reached codeine. Thank you all for sharing

Thank you, luckily I've been blessed so far on being cancer free my whole lifeUnfortunately all medication come with side effects and anything that targets the brain stem or the sensory cortex can lead to brain fog. But I wouldn't let that scare you or put you off from taking medication that is working for you. - especially if it's giving you a quality of life.
Congratulations on being cancer free BTW.
