R to @profKayW: Yes I love the idea of painting the ceiling too. White ceiling with colourful walls always looks jarring to me. Will have to ask permission - I’m allowed to do walls but not alter any of the flooring (!) or garden (!) so will have to carefully scrutinise the ceiling politics…

R to @Tynegall: I’ve had these sofas for a good few years - with many pets and a particularly mucky football-in-all-weathers child - and they’re still in surprisingly good nick! A spray bottle of washing up liquid, salt, and very hot water, applied vigorously with a nail brush, works wonders!

Thanks all for your input yesterday on colours for my new lounge/bedroom. Decided to swap the curtains for the less-warm but more-beautiful ones, so a pale mizzley green on the walls (and hopefully ceiling 🙏) will work beautifully 🥹

R to @BootstrapCook: Going to try to use the pieces of my existing bookcases to build floor-to-ceiling units, and then cover the joins with strips of wood 🪵 to get as much bookcase-space in as possible… Resisting thinking about painting them to match the wall, because it’ll be an arse of a job, BUT

R to @emmaeveritt_art: I’m thinking about dyeing (!) the pink ones navy and hanging them behind the Strawberry Thief ones 🥰 but if that won’t work (need to look at the fabric composition!) then I might tack them together to line them 😊
