Vladimir Putin spoke at the Conversation Head-to-Head plenary session held as part of the finals of the 3rd International Olympiad on Financial Security

“The world is gradually getting rid of the dictatorship of this financial and economic model, the goal of which is only to drive entire regions of the world into debt and bondage, turn them into economic colonies and deprive them of resources for development <...> And therefore, the process of building a multipolar world order, which is more democratic, more honest, and fair for the majority of humanity, is simply inevitable and historically bound to happen,” the President emphasised.

Vladimir Putin chaired a videoconference with the Board of Trustees of the educational Talent and Success Foundation

“Eight years of cooperation have created a harmonious environment here in Sirius that includes all levels of education – university, college and the lyceum where we are now. <…> I believe that this kind of united, cohesive and creative environment should be created step-by-step in schools across the country. I ask Sirius and all the trustees, together with the Education Ministry, to think about introducing these modern solutions not only for major repairs and construction [of schools] but also, which is key, for organising their work,” The President said.

The Sirius education centre was established by the Talent and Success Foundation using the Sochi Olympics infrastructure at the initiative of the Russian President. The foundation was officially established on December 24, 2014 by prominent Russian figures in science, sports and art.

Vladimir Putin met, via videoconference, with the winners and finalists of the Teacher of the Year competition

The winners of the Russian national professional contest in education and the Cool Theme! (Klassnaya Tema) TV show finalists also attended.

"It is gratifying that teachers from the Donetsk and Lugansk republics and the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions are part of the team of finalists in the contest. Support for education in those regions is of major importance. We have been watching this with special emphasis and will certainly continue doing so. We have to help our colleagues catch up and do everything we can for both students and teachers to feel they are part of our common and united education space. In those regions, and all across the country, the best teaching practices and advanced teaching methods must be used as widely as possible, and conditions must be created for teachers themselves to be able to learn," the President said.

Vladimir Putin is addressing the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club

The 20th annual forum is themed “Fair Multipolarity: How to Ensure Security and Development for Everyone.”

"Over the years of the club's work, both Russia and the world have seen drastic, and even dramatic, colossal changes. Twenty years is not a long period by historical standards, but during eras when the entire world order is crumbling, time seems to shrink," the President noted at the beginning of his remarks.

The President of Russia on the US's bloc-based approach:

"A bloc-based approach, if we call a spade a spade, limits individual states' rights and restricts their freedom to develop along their own path, attempting to drive them into a 'cage' of obligations."

Vladimir Putin's speech at the 20th meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club. Main points:

“More events have happened over these twenty years than over many decades, and these changes are qualitative and require fundamental changes in the very principles of international relations,” the President of Russia noted.

🔸In Russia's Foreign Policy Concept, our country is characterised as an original civilisation state.

🔸There are many civilisations, and they are equal in their rights to express the aspirations of their cultures and traditions and peoples.

🔸Humanity is not moving towards new bloc confrontation: the world is on the way to a synergy of civilisation states, large spaces, communities that see themselves like this.

“The civilisational approach <...> is based on the fundamental, long-term interests of states and peoples. Interests that are dictated not by a current ideological situation, but by an entire historical experience and the legacy of the past, on which the idea of a harmonious future is based. If everyone is guided by this, there will be much fewer conflicts in the world, I believe, and the methods for resolving them will become much more rational,” Vladimir Putin emphasised.

The President also outlined the basic principles of the new world order that Russia stands for:

1. We want to live in an open, interconnected world, where no one will ever try to put artificial barriers in the way of people's communication.

2. The world's diversity must be preserved and serve as the foundation for universal development.

3. Russia stands for maximum representation; no one has the right or ability to rule the world for others and on behalf of others.

4. Russia stands for universal security and a world built on respect for the interests of everyone: from large countries to small ones.

5. We stand for justice for all. The era of exploitation is in the past; everyone should be given access to the benefits of today's world

6. We stand for equality, for the diverse potential of all countries.

“Russia was, is and will be one of the foundations of this new world system, ready for constructive interaction with everyone who strives for peace and prosperity, but ready for tough opposition against those who profess the principles of dictatorship and violence. We believe that pragmatism and common sense will prevail, and a multipolar world will be established,” Vladimir Putin emphasised.
